If to err is human, remember that our computers are also human-made. And they can act differently at times. Sometimes due to minor manufacturing malfunctioning and some software or hardware issues drag our computer towards problems. That is probably when we desperately look for a solution because we can’t live without our computers.

But trust me, all have been there and faced those in our day-to-day lives while using a computer. So don’t be panic. Read on! In today’s article, we will address the top 3 common computer problems and how you can fix them by yourself.

3 Common Computer Problems and How to Solve Them

#1 Your Computer is Not Turning on

This is probably one of the biggest problems faced by computer owners and operators. It’s hard to understand what gone wrong with your PC when it’s completely shut off. But, if we compare our computer with our body, it will be easier to understand.

Think we have fallen sick, just like we sometimes get a fever. Our body’s mechanism is to fight the infection. In the same way, if your computer is affected, it usually won’t turn on until you address the infection. There can be hundreds of reasons why your PC did not turn on. And there can be reasons such as virus infection or even an inadequate power supply or many more.

How to Solve?

If you are using a laptop, check if your battery has run out of charge. When your laptop is not working, the first thing you need to do is to leave it to charge for a few hours. But if your laptop doesn’t turn on even after a few hours of charging, there might be a different problem.

If you are using a desktop, you need to check the plug socket. If the power supply is not the problem, there might be another problem. There can be issues with the external hardware or even with the windows. If there are no issues with the power supply, you can eliminate the external hardware and try restarting your system. You can even back up all your files from the hard drive and reset everything back to normal.

#2 You Are Facing a Slow Internet

Oh, ask me how frustrating it is! A slow Internet connection interrupts your Netflix binge-watching and also hamper your productivity. But trust me, it is easy to deal with a slow internet connection. The problem might be related to your internet appliance or your internet service provider.

How to Solve?

Before reaching out to your internet service provider, the simple solution is to restart the router. If you are using any other gadgets such as a modem, try restarting it to solve the problem. Sometimes a power fluctuation may lead to a slow internet connection. Switching off the router and waiting for a few minutes before turning it back on may fix the problem.

If there is no change in your internet strength after following all the above steps, you might need to check your own computer. Sometimes unnecessary background processes eat up the internet speed. And you will encounter slow internet. Check your task manager and turn off all the automatic updates.

Suppose you have tried everything we mentioned above, and nothing worked. In that case, there might be some external issue from your Internet service provider. Reach out to the internet provider’s customer service team, share your problems, and ask them to take necessary actions.

#3 Your Computer is Running Slow

This is another problem that tests our patience when it takes 5 minutes to open one application on our computer. Well, this happens with many people in their daily lives. If your computer is older than 2-3 years, you might face this kind of problem.

How to Solve?

If your system is full of programs and if those programs are using a lot many resources, you might be left with a slow computer. The simplest way to deal with a slow computer is to check your task manager. Check every element in your computer, including the CPU, disk, and memory, and close the applications using too many resources, especially your RAM.

You also need to disable all the auto start programs. If your computer has an active antivirus and anti-threat software, scan for malware and adware. While using the internet or browsing, small malicious attacks are pretty common.

We know you deal with many other problems than the ones we mentioned above. But trust me, sometimes the solutions to those problems lie in our hands. Issues related to our computers will take place in day-to-day life and can be very frustrating. In some cases, you might need to take professional help.
